01In brief

Or Blorian (born 7 March 2000) is an Israeli football defender for Sporting Kansas City. He is also an Israel international. He played more than any other Hapoel Be’er Sheva player during the club’s 2025/26 league-title-winning season, contributing two goals and three assists from centre-back. A product of Maccabi Petah Tikva’s youth system, he also played for Hapoel Tel Aviv before establishing himself at Be’er Sheva and making his Sporting Kansas City debut in July 2026.

02Early Life and Development

Blorian was born on 7 March 2000.[1] He developed in Maccabi Petah Tikva’s youth teams and advanced to the senior side in the 2019/20 season.[5] By the time of his September 2022 transfer to Hapoel Be’er Sheva, the 1.88-metre defender had made 83 senior appearances for Maccabi Petah Tikva and scored once.[6]

03Club Career

During an August 2021 Toto Cup match at the Moshava Stadium, Blorian scored a sixth-minute own goal that gave Hapoel Tel Aviv victory over Maccabi Petah Tikva.[7] He subsequently experienced relegation with Maccabi Petah Tikva in the 2021/22 season.[8] In September 2022, he completed a move to Hapoel Be’er Sheva on a four-year contract.[6]

In July 2023, Blorian joined Hapoel Tel Aviv on a one-year loan from Be’er Sheva, with the agreement including an option to purchase him.[5] By then, he had accumulated 75 league appearances for Maccabi Petah Tikva.[5] At Hapoel Tel Aviv, he joined a squad combining younger players and veterans under newly appointed coach Michael Valkanis.[9] The 2023/24 campaign ended in relegation for the club.[8]

Blorian returned to Hapoel Be’er Sheva ahead of the 2024/25 season alongside fellow loan returnees Zahi Ahmad and Tomer Yosefi.[10] He went on to establish himself as a starting centre-back.[8] By January 2026, he had become one of the club’s leading defenders and received an offer to move immediately to a Major League Soccer club, but chose to remain through the end of the season to pursue the Israeli league title.[3]

In February 2026, Blorian signed a pre-contract to join Kansas City after the Israeli season as a free agent.[11] The agreement was for three years, with options for two additional seasons.[11] Following the agreement, he said his immediate focus remained on Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s goals and that the time to thank the club and city would come later.[11]

Be’er Sheva won the 2025/26 league title, with Blorian playing more than any other member of the squad.[4] He led the league by a wide margin in accurate passes and finished the campaign with two goals and three assists from centre-back.[4] One of those goals was the winner in a 2–1 home victory over Beitar Jerusalem in round 22.[4]

In July 2026, Blorian made his Sporting Kansas City debut against St. Louis City.[2] He started the match and played 75 minutes before being substituted with Kansas City trailing; the match ended in a 3–2 defeat.[2]

04International Career

Blorian was included in Israel’s squad for the 2023 European Under-21 Championship.[5] By January 2026, he had become one of the senior national team’s regular centre-backs under coach Ran Ben Shimon.[3]

He appeared for Israel in its 3–0 World Cup qualifying defeat to Italy in October 2025, wearing number 5.[12] Italy’s Gianluca Mancini scored the third goal, and the result eliminated Israel from contention for the 2026 World Cup.[12] The match in Udine took place after pro-Palestinian demonstrations that included calls for FIFA to ban Israel from international competition.[12]

05Legacy and Significance

Blorian’s 2025/26 campaign marked his emergence as a leading Israeli centre-back. After two early-career relegations, he established himself as a starter for Hapoel Be’er Sheva and a regular for the senior national team.[3][8] He played more than any Be’er Sheva teammate during the club’s title-winning season, led the league in accurate passes by a wide margin, and added two goals and three assists.[4] In January 2026, he declined an immediate MLS move to remain in the title race; he signed with Kansas City the following month for a post-season transfer.[3][11]

06Commercial Activities

In 2025, while playing for Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Blorian was selected as a brand ambassador for Skechers’ Electrum Pack football shoes.[13] The group of Israeli Premier League players chosen for the campaign also included Guy Melamed, Maor Levi, and Timothy Muzi.[13]

07Health

After moving to Kansas City, Blorian was taken to hospital after feeling unwell and underwent a heart catheterization.[14] He said he had felt out of shape for about a month and had recently experienced chest pain during training.[14] Following tests and the procedure, he was released from hospital but would miss Israel’s national-team window at the end of that month.[14]

After the procedure, Blorian wrote: “I’m fine. Recovering and waiting to get back on the pitch to do the thing I love most in the world.”[14]
