01In brief

Guy Badash is an Israeli professional footballer who plays primarily as a midfielder or right winger and joined Hapoel Petah Tikva in June 2026. He is best known for his association with Hapoel Jerusalem, where he helped the club return to the Israel Premier League after a 21-year absence. His 11-goal 2022/23 league campaign, when Jerusalem finished fourth, marked his top-flight breakthrough and included his first call-up to the Israel national team.

02Early Career

Badash began his professional football path at Hapoel Kfar Saba before playing for Ironi Ramat HaSharon, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Beitar Tel Aviv/Ramla, and Sektzia Ness Ziona.[1] He later joined Hapoel Jerusalem, while Hapoel Be'er Sheva became the seventh club of his senior career in 2023.[1]

03Hapoel Jerusalem — First Spell

Badash joined Hapoel Jerusalem in October 2020, when the club was still competing in the Israeli second tier.[2] He contributed to its return to the Premier League after a 21-year absence and became an important player during its first seasons back in the top division.[1][2] In August 2022, he scored in a 2–0 Toto Cup victory over Sektzia Ness Ziona.[3]

During the 2022/23 campaign, Badash scored 11 Premier League goals as Hapoel Jerusalem finished fourth. The season was described as his breakthrough and included his first call-up to the Israel national team.[1][4] His first national-team appearance came in a friendly defeat to Malta in September 2022.[5] Across his first spell with Hapoel Jerusalem, he recorded 84 appearances, 17 goals, and 14 assists.[6]

04Hapoel Be'er Sheva

On 21 June 2023, following his standout season, Badash signed a three-year contract with Hapoel Be'er Sheva after completing medical examinations at Soroka Medical Center.[1][7] He was described at the time as a 29-year-old winger and one of the outstanding performers of the previous Premier League season.[7] On departing Jerusalem he said: "After significant years in a loving and family-like place, today I am exchanging Hapoel Jerusalem's red shirt for new red shirts."[1]

Badash did not establish himself at Be'er Sheva. He scored a second-half penalty in a 4–4 Premier League draw with Beitar Jerusalem at Teddy Stadium in December 2023.[8] Over the 2023/24 league season, he made 17 appearances, scoring twice and providing two assists.[6] By January 2025, he had accumulated 30 appearances for the club overall, with two goals and three assists, but had not appeared in the league during the 2024/25 season.[6] His only appearance for Be'er Sheva that season had come in July 2024.[2]

05Return to Hapoel Jerusalem

On 6 January 2025, Badash returned to Hapoel Jerusalem on loan for the remainder of the season, with the Jerusalem club paying his full salary.[2] After the loan spell, Hapoel Jerusalem signed him to a new three-year contract.[9] The club highlighted the memorable and decisive moments he had produced over three and a half seasons, while Badash said that Hapoel Jerusalem was his home and that he wanted to continue making history with its community.[9]

Badash scored twice in a 4–2 victory over Hapoel Hadera at the end of the 2024/25 season, with his second goal coming from a free kick in the 53rd minute.[10] A preview of the 2025/26 Israel Premier League season identified him as a midfielder whose performances, alongside those of forwards Andrew Idoko and Ibeh Ransom, would be important to Jerusalem's competitiveness.[11] In September 2025, he converted a 67th-minute penalty to give Jerusalem a temporary lead against Maccabi Tel Aviv before Maccabi won 2–1.[12] In January 2026, he equalized from the penalty spot in the 102nd minute of a 1–1 draw at Maccabi Netanya after Wilson Harris committed a foul in the box.[13]

06Hapoel Petah Tikva

On 15 June 2026, Badash signed with Hapoel Petah Tikva after spending the previous season with Hapoel Jerusalem.[14] He expressed excitement about joining the club and meeting its supporters and his new teammates.[14]

Early in the 2026/27 season, Badash was omitted from the squad for a 2–0 defeat to Hapoel Be'er Sheva and remained outside the coach's immediate professional plans.[15] The coach explained that Petah Tikva was not deploying traditional wingers in wide positions and said Badash could either work his way back into the squad or find another club before the transfer window closed. Badash, however, wanted to compete for playing time and had indicated that he did not wish to leave.[15]
