Published

01In brief

Highway 67 is a road in northern Israel whose documented corridor includes Zikhron Ya'akov Junction on Highway 2, Fureidis, Shfeya, Bat Shlomo, and Ein Tut. Reports describe holiday congestion on its eastbound Bat Shlomo–Ein Tut segment and closures between Zikhron Ya'akov and Shfeya during the 2021 disturbances. The road was also closed by a 2019 wildfire and a fatal 2025 collision. A serious multi-vehicle crash occurred in 2026.

02Overview

Highway 67 includes the stretch from Zikhron Ya'akov Junction on Highway 2 through Fureidis to Shfeya Junction.[2] Separate traffic reporting identifies an eastbound Highway 67 segment between Bat Shlomo and Ein Tut.[1]

03History

In November 2019, a wildfire near Shfeya spread across both sides of Highway 67, forcing authorities to close the road in both directions between Shfeya Junction and Fureidis Junction. During public-order disturbances in 2021, Highway 67 was closed from Zikhron Ya'akov Junction on Highway 2 through Fureidis to Shfeya Junction.[2]

In April 2025, a fatal two-vehicle collision occurred near Bat Shlomo Interchange. A woman about 20 years old was found trapped and unresponsive in her vehicle with multisystem trauma, while two other people sustained minor injuries. The section between Shfeya Junction and Bat Shlomo Interchange was closed in the eastbound direction while police and accident investigators examined the scene.[4]

In March 2026, a chain-reaction collision involving several vehicles, including trucks, occurred between Bat Shlomo Interchange and Ein Tut Interchange.
