Giv'at Ye'arim was founded in 1950 as a moshav in the Jerusalem Hills.[1][2] Its present municipal affiliation is the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council, and official locality records place it in the Jerusalem District and Jerusalem Subdistrict.[1][2]

04Demographics

The dated sources show overall growth since 2004 but a modest decline after 2019. On December 31, 2004, Giv'at Ye'arim had 993 residents.[1] The 2019 file recorded 1,454 residents: 1,453 in the “Jews and others” category, including 1,423 Jews, and 1 Arab resident.[4] The 2020 Peripherality Index used a population of 1,433.[3] In 2022, the total was 1,421; all 1,421 were listed under “Jews and others,” including 1,396 Jews, while the Arab-population field was blank.[2]

The 2022 total remained above the 2004 figure.[1][2] It was lower than the 2019 total.[2][4]
